Hi, all... just a few little thoughts I had on the ep....

First of all, I was totally bouncing and squeeing like a giddy little fangirl at the end. That kiss was phenomenal!!! Very real and raw and intense, and beautifully executed by both actors :)

And this really stood out to me, and I was wondering if anyone else noticed....

Cuddy: When I was getting a baby, you had to tell me i'd SUCK as a mother!!!

Hmmm.... does anyone else find it interesting that she quotes almost exactly what House said back in season three?? instead of any of the things he actually said in THiS episode?? I thought that was very interesting, as if she still remembers that most of all... that was the initial wound, and everything he said in this episode just added to the original self-doubts inspired by his words a year and a half ago.

And Wilson's analysis I think is perfect. It's exactly what I thought at the end of the last episode, except worded much better. House's look of vulnerability and fear at the end of "Lucky 13" was about Cuddy "growing up" so to speak, and moving on, and him getting left behind. :P

Really, there was so much to love about this episode... I loved the teen mother. I expected what happened to happen, and I expected to hate her for it -- but she made it so real, so understandable... I could totally understand why she made her decision, and love the tragic irony of the fact that Cuddy's very love for the baby is what made her change her mind and decide to keep it. :(

I really love Taub and Thirteen buying drugs ... heheh :P that was hilarious :P

Really, that preview at the end just left me desperate!! Two whole weeks???? Gaaah!!!!

Can't wait!!!!

I'm basically getting my head chewed off by people at house_cuddy...
XD But I guess it's my fault for posting my opinion on the kiss.
It wasn't what I expected it to be...is all.

I've always felt bad for Cuddy about what House had said in Finding Judas...it was cruel.I think anyone would feel bad about someone saying that to them, for a long while after such an instance.
I expected as much for the birth mother...but I couldn't stand her anyway
XD

Taub buying drugs was great! XD

2 week waits are LLLLLAAAAAMMMMMMMMMMEEEE

I'm actually having trouble trying to figure out why he kissed her. It felt so out of place in the scene. A hug would have made more sense.

It was almost like 'I have no idea how to apologize for being nasty and saying stupid things. So, I'll kiss you!'

Much like the 8th grade boy Wilson mentioned...

You're right. I actually hadn't thought of that before because I was so excited about the kiss, but I definitely see your point in how House's reaction was ackward. Any normal person would have probably simply just apologized and hugged her to comfort her, but come on that's the point here, House isn't any normal person. He's far from it and it's obvious at this point that he definitely has difficulty showing his true emotions and acting nicely to a person. Hugging her and giving her that comfort would have an in-between reaction with how he feels for her. He would have been saying I'm sorry and I actually do care, but I think we all know that he more than just cares for her. A typical House reaction would probably have been the two extremes, either leave and have her be mad at him because he doesn't have the courage to just say I'm sorry, or go to the other extreme, which he obviosuly did, and just go all out and kiss her showing her with that simple action just how much he cares without really having to say it.

Anyways, sorry for the long reply, but that really had me thinking....and maybe I'm just charcterizing House all wrong here and the producrs weren't thinking that much and just wanted a juicy kiss scene, but it looks pretty right to me.

I tend to think its more of a 'I wanted to do this for a while, but you would ahve hit me before' sort of thing. I mean, House never excatly ahs done the normal soscity reactions. Dad dies? lets do a DNA test. Was just in a horffic axadent, strip club time! I;m a little bumbed out..so lets fake cancer!

I actually don't think House has 'wanted to do that for a while'. He rarely stops himself from doing what he wants -i.e. instant gratification. So it's inconsistent with his character that he'd go to work every day and see someone who he is secretly hoping to score with, but not act on it.

Sorry. Probably even if they wrote it into the next episode, I'd continue not to believe it, just like I don't believe Wilson has "always had feelings" for her.

He is rather big on that, true...but look at some of the lengths he's gone for his plots before...I dun know, or maybe 'true love has melted his icy soul' (good god please no!)

As for the wilson thing...whos says he is saying it to Cuddy? You can cut any footage to show what you want some one to see. Maybe he has secret man love for Kutner or something...

I think if the writers wanted to have any hope of selling me the House is interested in Cuddy thing, they should have done it back in say season 3 when he still seemed remotely -well- interested.

God knows who Wilson's saying that to. Promos don't mean jack anymore, not that they ever did.

The show is just getting dumb. At this point, I wouldn't care who hooked up with who, just so long as they committed to it for more than one episode.

but he goes to work and sees wilson every day, too, and never acts on it... *shrugs* and i refuse to believe that he doesn't want *either* of them :P lol... i'm a split-shipper between the two pairings, obviously :P hehe... but like... if you think he wants to be with wilson, then that theory doesn't hold true, because he's never acted on that either...

I actually think the only reason he's failed to act on that is because the writers are too scared to put him into a gay relationship. Otherwise they'd have hooked up already. Hous kissing Wilson would have made way more sense to me.

Like I said before, if the writers wanted me to buy it, then should have done a better job selling it. House says lewd, sexual remarks to every attractive woman he comes into contact with, and some of the men too. I just don't see a mutual attraction there. I think they are friends and he definitely cares about her. But that's about it. It's a game to him.

Ten bucks says the next episode is just him screwing with her and Wilson and them each other and it will end with no one dating anyone.

Wonderful thoughts on a wonderful ep. I was calling my mom every break and saying "birth mother is gonna take the baby back." Even after she said "she's yours now." I knew.

I also really wanted to hate her, but it was hard because the place she came from was admiration of Cuddy. And I so get that... I hope she and the baby do ok.

And the kiss? Perfect! No music, no makeup, just two people in pain and raw. excellent.

I agree 100% about finding judas. It was a case I think of House hitting her in the perfect place to shatter her. As we saw during her convo with wilson after. Jerk. Good kissing jerk, but still a jerk.

I am not reading this post, because I haven't seen the episode yet. Why, you ask? I had to teach this evening, so my trusty Tivo was set to record it. Only it did not change channels properly, and instead I got an episode Walker, Texas Ranger. SO NOT THE SAME, AAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!!!!

*waits impatiently for the episode to appear on Amazon.com so she can spend $1.99 to see it...*

I think none of the main characters on the show is allowed to be happy. David Shore probably has that engraved on the wall in his office, so I was expecting the baby to die or the birth mom to change her mind. I did not see the kiss coming; for a second I thought Cuddy was going to clock House, also it confused me that he would kiss her and then leave immediately.

I realize it was probably the smallest point in your entry, but you reminded me...Did Thirteen suddenly get awesome in this episode? Or was she actually awesome before and I somehow missed it? Because I've barely noticed her since she started on the show, and all of a sudden tonight it seemed like she was hilarious and brilliant.

i've always kind of liked her, actually... i'm one of the weird ones who really prefers the new team to the old :P lol

Sorry if I am not talkative on my thoughts tonight but I've been trying to get some fic written and I want to watch this episode again before I comment.

No, I like the new team better too (except Chase). But I guess I never really noticed Thirteen? I don't know why. Last week was the first time she stood out for me, and she was kind of a train wreck then so I had a vague negative view of her. Then out of nowhere this week I'm blown away by her total awesomeness.

Maybe I just wasn't paying attention...guess I'll have to go back and watch earlier episodes now. :)

It didn't at all surprise me that Cuddy spit House's words back at him when she got the chance. If you recall the conversation between her and Wilson about House knowing just where to poke the stick, you'll recall how deeply hurt she was. House wasn't mean when he said that, he was downright cruel. That's not something a person easily forgets or gets over. And being that they are so close, she'd be even less likely to forget.

I think that House fears, most of all, that he won't be the center of attention anymore. Cuddy and Wilson are not only friends to House, but also parents in a way. House is acting like the little boy who is awaiting the arrival of a new sibling, and realizes that Mommy and Daddy are not paying him as much attention as before. He doesn't want his whole world to change, and it will if Cuddy has a baby.

The teen mother was portrayed quite realistically, I felt. I have to admit I knew from the beginning that she would change her mind and want to keep it. I had no special knowledge. I just didn't think it was meant for Cuddy to have that baby at this time. So, I wasn't at all surprised by the outcome.

Taub and Thirteen were utterly hilarious!!! Taub came across as such a little nebbish. I couldn't believe how polite he was to the drug dealer. It was priceless!

I really liked this episode, but then I've enjoyed all the eps this season. And I like both sets of fellows. Kutner is also hilarious. He has a real knack for thinking outside the box at times, too.

yeah, kutner is definitely my favorite :) and thirteen is growing on me... i'm still somewhat indifferent to taub, but he's starting to grow on me, too... the drug-buying scene was great for that, for me :P hehehehe

Definitely enjoyed the ep. The kiss looked a bit more directed than natural to me, though...it was a bit weird.

Lisa's expression when she's sitting on the floor after the mother changed her mind was just heartbreaking. I'm glad they had very little to no make-up on her, as it really did look like she'd wiped it off crying until she couldn't cry anymore.

(OT: I've finished chapter 10 of my book. :))
